New ear lobe piercing, normal pain?

5 days ago my friend pierced my left ear lobe with an earring we got at Wal-Mart, the second day I had to take it out for a few hours due to family reasons then I put it back in and seemed like I had to re-pierce it. Well I dont think its infected because Ive researched it and I have been cleaning it 3 times a day. But now the back of my ear hurts, and just the back. I managed to loosen the back to see if that is any better.

My questions:

1. How long will my piercing feel sore?

2. Do I have to take my piercing out to clean it? Because its hard to get off.

3. In the mornings when I turn it I hear a small tearing noise (almost like im freeing skin around the earring) is this normal?

4. Can I leave my new piercing in because I dont like taking it out?

Thanks

New ear lobe piercing, normal pain?
What happened is you took a fresh piercing out. It is an open wound and without the earring preventing it from healing back together, it started to close. When you put the earring back in, technically you did have to repierce it.

1. Its going to be sore for a while considering you 1. did it yourself improperly and 2. you technically repierced it

2. You don't take them out to clean them, although if I were you, I would take it out, let it heal and have it professionally done.

3. You're probably hearing little crusties crunching, clean it before you turn it.

4. You shouldn't have taken it out to start out with. You're supposed to leave the jewelry in place for at least 6 weeks before changing or removing the jewelry.

You're biggest problem was doing it yourself. Trial and error, live and learn I guess. Next time you want a piercing, please have it done professionally.
Reply:You could've just gone to a body piercing shop to get it done, but nooo.. you just had to pierce it with your earring didnt you? Now deal with it. If it gets infected, lets throw a party. :D
Reply:ok... yes pain is very normal, i got a second hole pierced and had to take it out because i could bear the pain.

when you clean it just simply get it wet with the solution and twist it, removing it will cause infection.

the tearing noise is completely normal, it is simply fluids hardening to the jewlery that noise will go away after about a week

and yes leave it in, the more often you remove it, the more you will let it see the air which could have many things you dont want to get inside it

hope this helps, i pierced my friends ear a few years ago and it worked great, i used a safety pin tho
Reply:You probably should have gotten it pierced at a licensed facility; it's much safer. I got mine pierced at Icing, a little accessory store in my local mall, and that's what im basing my answers off of.

Your piercing will probably be sore for a couple of weeks. To clean it, the boutique i went to had special cleaning solution. You can probably call around and ask for the best deal on that. DON'T take your earring out. That'll just hurt more. Take a fresh, clean Qtip, dip it into the solution, and swipe around the earring, carefully.

In the mornings, make sure your hands are clean before turning the earring. It is normal to hear that noise, because you ARE freeing skin from your earring. Your ear lobe is getting used to having something foreign in it.

And leave your earring in for a while, at least six weeks. Changing it too early can make it hurt longer, and it's also an infection risk.

Good luck! :)
Reply:No, thats is NOT normal. You really messed up.

Take it out before it gets any worse. Have you EVER had anything pierced before? Your breaking EVERY rule there is about piercing.

A tight back dosent allow for swelling, therefore damages your ear. You DONT take it out...

My god, please just take it out and go freakin claires (which still isnt good but for lobes its better than what you just did). It should NOT be sore. Ever. Perhaps jus a little bit when you sleep on it... but its only because you did a dumb thing. Please do it right next time. You can get that piercing at Claires for about 20$.
