Can you lose your gut after having a c-section? If so how?

I just had my second baby in July, and I am trying to get back in shape. I have already lost 17 pounds in just one month, but what I really want to know is how to lose my gut from the c-section, and also im only 21 will if I lose alot of weight will I have alot of flabby skin or should it tighten up since I am still young?

I have the same problem. My mom didnt have c-secs and she has a pouch there. I had a c-section back in Dec to delive my twins. I have a little pouch but Im hoping that losing another 60lbs will get rid of it. But I've heard that if you drop the weight and it's still there, the only way to get rid of it would be a tummy tuck. I myself am hoping to not go that route
Reply:congrats on your progress so far!

all you really need is a good mix of cardio and strength training. depending on how 'big' you got during your pregnancy, you may still have excess skin no matter how young you are, unfortunately. but with exercise and the proper training you may be able to get some elasticity back. eating the proper foods too will help, a good mix of healthy fats, proteins and good carbs - just eat from the 5 food groups, everything in moderation. and you can succeed, otherwise a tummy tuck may be a last resort once you are all done with the family planning.

Reply:I've had 2 children. I had a c-section with the 2nd one. I started doing pilates 6 weeks after the c-section. My stomach went back to it's flat shape and it's stayed that way. ( My youngest is almost 4 years old). Pilates targets the gut. You can buy a pilates DVD almost anywhere.
