Foundation/concealer?? pls help!!?

ok well first of all.. im 13 yrs old. do you think i should even be wearing foundation? i heard that it causes acne. i mean, even if i get the foundation that says "oil free. wont clog pores", will it still cause acne?

second.. i heard that if you use green %26amp; yellow concealers, you should wear foundation because if you don't, you'll be able to see the green and yellow. is this true?

third lol.. my skin is combination, so if i shouldnt wear foundation, is loose powder ok? or will it cause acne?

and please DONT say im too young to wear makeup. i know a lot of old people will say that. but in case you havent noticed, ive seen 8 year old girls buying makeup at walmart. lol.

but yeah, pls help. much appreciated. thank you %26lt;3

i think the reason why people say you might be too young to be wearing makeup is because at 13, your skin is still nice and therefore shouldn't need products like foundation or concealer.

but i understand how you feel =P..i started wearing those things at your age too.

personally i never got acne from wearing foundation or concealer, and my skin is combination as well. the only way i got acne or any breakouts from cosmetics was when i didnt remove my makeup well enough. its really really important to clean your face and remove any makeup at the end of the day.

green concealers and yellow concealers work, but it depends on what your original skin tone is like, and the quality of the concealers. personally when i put on a yellow concealer (meant to cover undereye circles), it looks really unnatural and when i put foundation over it, it looks even more unnatural...i guess you would really have to experiment for yourself to know whether or not it works for you.

i would not actually suggest you to put green concealer on top of acne (if that is what you were thinking of doing). try to stick with normal blemish concealers that come in your skin shade..you might find that it works better that way.

also, make sure that your skin is moisturized before you wear makeup.. this will help to prevent any damage to your skin.

btw, putting loose powder on is definetely fine too. usually, makeup artists will put on just a bit of loose powder after a liquid foundation to even it all out.. just a tip =)

goodluck
Reply:Hi,

First of all, what problems do you have with your skin that you want to use concealers?

I do think most foundations hurt your skin overall. the only one that doesn't (atleast on my skin - its combination also) is bare minerals. Unfortunately, its not cheap (about $25 ) but it does last a long time.

If you have nice skin, i think loose powder or maybe a powder compact would be good for you. Avoid foundations, even if they are oil-free if you are ok with your skin...

i personally have lots and lots problems with my skin-----mainly really bad undereye circles and some acne scars...so i use it (Plus im in my 30's!) :)

Let me know if you have any specific problems with your skin......
Reply:i recommend bare minerals foundation by bare eacentuals, you can use it also as concealer.
