Is this story interesting to you.....?

I entered the house and closed the door behind me. Daniel was standing by the stairway staring at a peculiar spot on the wooden floor. He never even looked up as I walked slowly towards him.

“Theor….” He called my name softly. My heart started beating a little faster. A smile formed at the corner of his lips as the rhythm of my heart played in his head.

“Do you love me?” he asked looking up at me softly. His eyes were full of curiosity.

“Yes” I gazed up at him. He came closer to me and reached out his hand as if going to touch my face. I could feel the icy coldness of his skin and shivered. He put his arm down as he noticed my uncomfortableness.

“And you want to stay with me forever?” his voice pleaded. “Theor I love you.” he whispered the last three words. I took this all in slowly.

“Please say you will Theor.” I stared around the dark room. The sun had set a mere hour ago, and the whole house was already illuminated in a gloomy darkness.

“Daniel I can’t….” I started. He immediately looked disappointed.

“Then why’d you even come back?” he said darkly. “If you don’t want to be with me then you shouldn’t have come back!” His dark eyes glared into mine. I was startled.

“I do want to be with you.” I said trying to keep my voice steady. He shook his head.

“Then what’s the problem Theor? I—love—you.” he said turning away from me and staring out the window into the darkness. A lonely tree swayed silently with the wind. I watched as he pressed his hand up against the glass, leaving a print as his arm fell back down by his side.

“That tree,” he started, still staring in a trance, “that tree has always been there. When I was little, my brother and I would always race to see who could get to the top the fastest. He always won.” I stared at Daniel wondering what the purpose of this story would bring. “And every time after he’d won he’d always taunt me and call me childish names like ‘slow poke’ or ‘loser’. And every time I’d get really angry and ignore him for the rest of the day. The thing was, I hated how he never seemed affected by my not being there. He’d always walk right past me sitting underneath the tree with his friends or my sisters just laughing and being happy. I hated feeling unloved by him because even though he was only older than me by three years, I still looked up to him. So I’d sit there under that tree for hours just thinking about how alone I always felt and how nobody—even my parents—seemed to care.” He turned away from the window and faced me. I gaped at him with my mouth slightly open.

“Daniel…”

“And I promised myself,” he spoke over me, “that I would never leave this place without finding someone to love, without someone to be by my side forever. And you’re that someone now.” My heart beat faster and faster at each passing second.

“Theor please don’t be scared,” he walked closer to me. His ice cold hand was holding my cheek and I jumped a little at touch. “We’ll be together forever, just you and I.”

“H—how?” I asked quietly. I already knew the answer.

“There’s a multitude of ways.” He answered his voice still soft and calm. “But you can only do it yourself. I can’t harm you in anyway.” I swallowed hard.

“But I’ll be leaving so much behind,” tears brimmed in my eyes and fell down my cheeks. “My family and friends who love me—” His cool thumb brushed against my face wiping away my tears.

“Please don’t worry,” he said. I shook my head.

“Please let go of me.” I whispered, realizing his strong icy grip now on my shoulder. He did with great resentment.

“Then get away from me.” he turned away. “Just go away Theor. You say you love me, when really you lie.” I shook my head sadly.

“I love you!” he screamed suddenly. “Theor, you are the only person I have ever loved! And if I can’t love you forever then no one will! That is my promise to you.”

“I do love you Daniel, but you can’t do this to me.” I said. “I can’t just leave my whole life behind for you.” he walked away ignoring me. “I have everything here….”

“Just leave!” he yelled. “I don’t ever want to see you here again.” He sounded so broken and hurt.

“Daniel please—” He disappeared up the stairs and into the darkness before I could say another word. I collapsed on my knees in hopeless tears. This was not going not end well. What was going to happen to me, or my family and friends? What was going on through that dangerous head of his now?
