Why would my fingers be turning yellow?

On both hands my index and middle fingers are turning a little yellow. Its from my fingertips to between the first knuckle and the second knuckle from the tips. I have been washing them and used paint thinner on my finger nails to see if it comes off but it seems to be under the skin.

The only chemical's my fingers have been prone to the past couple days are paint thinner at work, and spray paint. But I have worked with both of these many times and nothing happened then. What could be wrong with my fingers and should I get this checked out?

I don't know what could be wrong but if it spreads anymore then I would have it checked out. I would also wear some sort of gloves when working with paint and chemicals. Once on the skin they are absorbed into your body.
Reply:Do you smoke ?
Reply:Have you taken up smoking? That will do it.
Reply:Hi check your urine. If it is dark yellow it is the beginning of Jaundice
Reply:its from smoking, mine are yellow to nothing will take it off, i have tried everything
Reply:if u smoke it turns the top 1/3 of your fingers u hold it with this color. try using alcohol or peroxide to scrub it off.. this is what it sounds like i know from experience. if your finger hurts or is swollen then yeah have it checked out.
