Can burns cause bruises?

I burned myself from hot oil a few days ago and obtained a second-degee burn on my hand. I've been to the doctor about it and have received treatment, but I also burned myself in two other places. I splashed a bit on my foot which stung the first night but the pain left in a few hours and there is no redness. What perplexes me the most is that I sloshed a substantial amount on my thigh which again hurt a bit the first night but had no other signs that it had been burned. Now a bruise has come up exactly where I burned my leg! I have never heard of anything like this. Is it possible that the heat could have damaged something internally without affecting my skin?

Can burns cause bruises?
Sure, if it was a pre heated oven that fell you.

Thought you could use some humor. I was wrong huh?
